    Description

    What does it solve?
Controlling the flow of electricity efficiently will increase both the energy supplement and the life of the system. Since the Off-grid system joins many parts it becomes a bit more complicated to increase efficiency and protect it from unwanted damages. Especially, the Off-grid systems which generates electricity from the wind turbines require more precise control over itself.
Helind charging controller focused on communication between wind turbine and battery bank. Therefore, the controller ensures that the battery bank is charged efficiently, so it prevents overcharging the battery and reverse energy flows from the batteries to the turbine. Additionally, the controller protects the turbine from high-speed winds (storms).
    Product description
Helind controller controls the wind turbine. There are two modes that the controller works.
    Voltage based control
The first one is that it automatically detects the voltage of the batteries, either charges the batteries or stops the system to generate electricity. As a result, the battery bank will effectively reserve the electricity to provide supply energy all time, and by preventing overcharging will extend the lifetime of the batteries.
    Wind speed based control
In the second case, it is required to set the maximum and minimum wind speed values. The controller gets the wind speed information from the anemometer, and either stops or starts the wind turbine to operate. If the wind speed reaches to the maximum indicated value the controller stops the wind turbine to prevent it from unwanted damages, and after it, as the wind speed reaches to the minimum indicated value it will force the turbine to start to operate. Consequently, the controller aims to both supply electricity efficiently and keeps the system healthy and durable.
    Info on screen
The buttons and LCD screen provide options to configure and monitor the controller. There 2 setting menu pages; “Sensor Settings” and “Parameter Settings”. In the “Sensor Settings” menu page wind speed sensor, wattmeter, wind alarm and voltage alarms can be turned on or off. On the other hand, in the “Parameter settings” maximum and minimum voltage and wind speed values can be set.
Additionally, the controller displays some real-time information on the LCD screen:
    ·
    system voltage
    ·
    the battery bank voltage
    ·
    wind speed
    ·
    bridge diode temperature
    ·
    the types of braking
    ·
    errors and alarms
    LED indicators
    Blue light – charging
    Yellow light – resistor braking
    Red light – 3-phase braking
    Advantages
The main advantages of our controller are:
    1.
    Braking according to wind speed
    2.
    Voltage braking
    3.
3-phase braking - reduces the risk of accidents by ensuring a complete stop of the turbine
